Privacy policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Ronin is a household budgeting app. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Ronin website (noxronin.com) and app (app.noxronin.com), how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what we need to run your account, we never sell your data, and you can export or delete everything at any time.
Information you give us
- Account information. Your email address and any profile details you choose to add, such as your name. We use your email to sign you in (with a password or an emailed login code) and to send you account messages.
- Budget data. The budgets, categories, transactions, savings pockets, and notes you create, and any receipt images you scan. This data exists so the app can work for you; we do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
- Optional card digits. You can choose to save the last four digits of a payment card to help you match transactions to the card you used. We never ask for, and never store, full card numbers, expiration dates, or security codes. Four digits alone cannot be used to charge a card.
Information collected automatically
Like most services, our servers keep standard logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) that we use for security, debugging, and keeping the service running. The marketing site does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. The app uses only the cookies required to keep you signed in.
Bank connections
Ronin does not connect to your bank, and we have no current plans to add bank connections. We never ask for your bank credentials and we never receive data from your bank. All transactions in Ronin come from you: entered by hand, scanned from a receipt, created from a recurring template, or imported from a CSV file you upload. If we ever add an optional bank connection in the future, it will be opt-in and we will update this policy first.
Payments
Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are governed by Stripe's privacy policy; Ronin never sees or stores your full card number. We receive from Stripe only what we need to manage your subscription, such as its status and renewal date.
Service providers
We share data with a small number of companies only so they can perform services for us, never so they can sell or advertise with it:
- Stripe to process subscription payments.
- Resend to deliver transactional emails such as login codes and account notices.
- Google (Gemini) to power AI receipt scanning. When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to Google's Gemini API to extract the transaction details, and the results are saved to your budget. Google may retain and use content submitted to the Gemini API to improve its services, as described in Google's own terms. Receipt scanning is optional; if you prefer, you can always enter transactions by hand instead.
- Cloud infrastructure providers that host the app and its database.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Ronin and its users.
Push notifications
On Premium, you can turn on push notifications. These are optional, require your permission through your browser or device, and can be turned off at any time in your device or app settings.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can export your data as CSV at any time, and you can delete your account and its data from settings at any time. When you delete your account, your household data is permanently deleted from our systems, with residual copies in backups removed as those backups expire.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data directly in the app. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, the UK, or California), you may have additional legal rights over your personal information, such as the right to object to certain processing or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any right you cannot exercise in the app, email us at support@noxronin.com and we will respond. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and emailed login codes expire after a short time. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we design Ronin to minimize what we collect in the first place: no bank credentials, no full card numbers.
Children
Ronin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you by email or in the app before the changes take effect.
